How do I get a quote?
Fill in the free quote form with a line for each job, and reply to our email with photos if you can.
Is the quote free?
Yes, quotes are free and there’s no obligation.
Why don’t you list prices?
Every job is different, so we quote on your actual list rather than publish general prices.
Can you do several jobs in one visit?
Yes. Grouping jobs is the most efficient way to work.
Do I need to be home?
Usually yes for the start of the visit, though we can arrange access for rentals and some outdoor jobs.
Do you supply materials?
We can supply common materials, or use fittings and furniture you’ve already bought.
What we do and don’t do
Do you do electrical work?
No. Electrical work, including new power points for TVs, needs a licensed electrician.
Do you do plumbing?
No. Taps, toilets and water connections need a licensed plumber.
Do you remove asbestos?
No. We won’t cut, drill or sand material that may contain asbestos.
Do you do structural repairs?
No. Structural work needs a registered builder; we’ll tell you when a job needs one.
Do you remove trees?
No, that’s arborist work. We can repair fences and gutters after a tree is dealt with.
Do you do roofing?
Only small items within handyman scope. Roof repairs need a roofer.
Homes and conditions
Why do my doors stick in winter?
Moisture and seasonal clay soil movement are common causes. We check hinges and frames before planing.
Are the cracks in my walls serious?
Fine, stable cracks are usually cosmetic. Wide or growing cracks need a builder or engineer.
Can you help in my new home?
Yes, with TVs, blinds, shelves, furniture and settling-in repairs. Warranty defects should go to your builder first.
Can you hang things on steel-framed walls?
Yes, using fixings designed for steel studs.
Can you help prepare for bushfire season?
Yes, with gutters, gap sealing, mesh, seals and clearing combustibles. We don’t do BAL assessments.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least once or twice a year, and more often under tall trees in the hills.
